Studio / Vision

Vision & Values

Building a studio where strong ideas, thoughtful craft, and reliable production come together.

Big Monster Studio is being built for the long term.

Our goal is to create a studio capable of serving professional clients, producing original work, supporting filmmakers and artists, and giving talented people opportunities to grow as the studio grows.

We believe commercial work and creative filmmaking can strengthen each other. The same attention to story, image, collaboration, and execution that shapes our films also informs the work we create for clients.

Our Vision

Our vision is to grow Big Monster Studio into a multidisciplinary production and post-production studio known for thoughtful work, strong visual storytelling, dependable execution, and meaningful creative relationships.

We want to build a studio capable of taking projects from the first conversation through production and final delivery while remaining flexible enough to collaborate with clients, agencies, filmmakers, artists, and other creative teams at different stages of the process.

That means continuing to expand our team, production capabilities, equipment resources, post-production workflows, and network of trusted collaborators.

At the same time, original filmmaking remains part of who we are.

We want Big Monster Studio to be a place where professional client work, original films, experimentation, and collaboration can exist together rather than having to choose between them.

The Studio We Are Building

What We’re Building

Big Monster Studio is not intended to be limited to one type of filmmaking or one type of client. We are building a studio with several connected areas.

Clients

Client + Commercial Work

Professional production and post-production for businesses, organizations, agencies, brands, events, artists, and private clients.

Originals

Original Films

Narrative and creative projects developed by Big Monster Studio and our collaborators.

Community

Filmmaker + Artist Collaboration

A continued commitment to working with independent filmmakers, directors, musicians, artists, and emerging creatives.

Finishing

Post-Production

Editing, color correction, color grading, and finishing for our own productions as well as projects created by other filmmakers and production teams.

Foundation

Team + Infrastructure

A growing internal team supported by trusted freelance crew, collaborators, equipment resources, production systems, and professional rental partners.

These are connected parts of one studio rather than separate businesses. The same people, standards, and working habits run through all of them.

What We Stand On

Our Values

The principles we want to hold to as the studio grows, on client productions and original work alike.

01

Story + Purpose

Every project should understand what it is trying to communicate.

Whether we are creating a narrative film, corporate interview, event piece, music video, commercial, or short-form content, creative and technical decisions should support the purpose of the work.

02

Craft

We care about the details.

Cinematography, lighting, sound, photography, editing, color, organization, and delivery all contribute to the final experience.

Professional work should feel intentional at every stage.

03

Collaboration

The best work rarely comes from one person.

We value communication between clients, directors, producers, cinematographers, photographers, editors, crew members, artists, and everyone else involved in bringing a project together.

Different perspectives and abilities make the work stronger.

04

Reliability

Creativity matters, but so does execution.

We value clear communication, preparation, organization, realistic planning, respect for schedules, responsible production practices, and delivering what we commit to.

Clients and collaborators should be able to trust the people they are working with.

05

Respect

We want our productions to be professional, organized, inclusive, and respectful environments.

Every person on a production contributes to the work, regardless of department, title, background, or level of experience.

We believe people do their best work when they are treated professionally and given the space to contribute.

06

Curiosity + Experimentation

Filmmaking and media continue to change.

We remain open to new technologies, formats, workflows, visual approaches, and ways of telling stories while being intentional about when and why we use them.

Technology should expand creative possibilities rather than replace creative judgment.

07

Growth

Big Monster Studio is being built for the long term.

Growth means more than simply taking on more projects.

It means developing our team, improving our systems, expanding our capabilities, building stronger client and creative relationships, investing in resources, and creating opportunities for the people who grow with the studio.

Still a Home for Filmmakers

As Big Monster Studio grows into more areas of professional production, we remain committed to the filmmaking community that helped shape the studio.

We want to continue collaborating with independent filmmakers, supporting ambitious projects, sharing resources and knowledge where possible, and creating opportunities for talented people to work together.

Supporting filmmakers is part of Big Monster Studio.

It is simply no longer the only thing Big Monster Studio is.

The Same Standards, Whatever the Project

We do not believe creativity should disappear when the work is commercial, and we do not believe professionalism should disappear when the work is artistic.

  • A corporate interview deserves thoughtful cinematography.
  • An event deserves careful observation.
  • A music video deserves a visual language.
  • A product video needs to communicate clearly.
  • A narrative film needs practical planning.
  • And every client deserves clear communication and reliable execution.

That balance between creativity and production is central to how we want Big Monster Studio to work.

Growing With Intention

We want Big Monster Studio to grow, but not simply for the sake of becoming bigger.

As the studio expands, we want to build a strong internal team, develop long-term client relationships, create opportunities for collaborators and employees, strengthen our production infrastructure, and continue making work we are proud to put our name on.

Some productions will remain small and personal.

Others may require larger crews, specialized equipment, additional departments, and outside partners.

The studio should be capable of supporting both.
